Michael Donitzen

Owner

Michael Donitzen is the Owner of Mold Removal Worx LLC, where he combines decades of experience in home construction, home inspection, and mold remediation to help property owners throughout the Shenandoah Valley and Rockingham County, Virginia. His career has been defined by a commitment to understanding how homes are built, how they perform over time, and how to identify and resolve issues that can impact the safety and integrity of a property. As a NORMI-certified mold inspector and remediator, a Virginia Class A Contractor, and a longtime construction professional, Michael leads every project with an emphasis on thorough evaluations, practical solutions, and lasting results.

At Mold Removal Worx LLC, Michael believes that effective mold remediation begins with identifying the underlying source of moisture rather than simply removing visible mold. By combining construction knowledge with inspection expertise, he helps homeowners and property owners understand the conditions affecting their homes while providing comprehensive remediation services designed to restore healthy indoor environments.

Building a Lifetime of Construction and Inspection Experience

Michael’s journey in the construction industry began at the age of 12, when he started working as a general laborer. Over the years, he steadily advanced through the industry, eventually becoming the Superintendent of multi-million-dollar housing projects. This progression provided firsthand experience with every stage of residential construction, from the earliest phases of a project to the final details that ensure a home’s quality and longevity.

Throughout his career, Michael has owned and operated three contracting companies licensed in Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland, as well as two home inspection companies in Virginia. These businesses allowed him to work with homeowners, builders, buyers, and sellers across a wide variety of residential projects while developing a comprehensive understanding of building systems and construction practices.

His experience extends across numerous trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, roofing, flooring, painting, and other essential components of residential construction. His West Virginia Residential Contractor license authorized him to practice multiple trades, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC, giving him broad technical knowledge that continues to benefit clients facing complex property concerns.

Although Michael also spent time in both the military and aviation, his professional career consistently returned to his passion for building, evaluating, and improving homes.

Advancing Professional Education and Industry Standards

Education has remained an important part of Michael’s professional career. He designed and authored Virginia-approved continuing education courses for home inspectors, helping support the ongoing education of professionals working throughout the industry.

In addition to developing educational materials, Michael serves as a member of the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) Mold Inspection and Remediation Workforce Committee. His participation allows him to contribute practical industry knowledge while helping shape standards that support consumers and qualified professionals alike.

His commitment to education reflects the same philosophy that guides his work with clients: informed decisions lead to better outcomes.

Leading Mold Removal Worx LLC with Comprehensive Solutions

As the owner of Mold Removal Worx LLC, Michael oversees a company that provides complete mold-related services rather than focusing solely on mold removal. The company offers mold assessments, inspections, sampling, laboratory analysis, remediation, sanitization, crawl space encapsulation, water and flood damage services, preventative mold treatments, and rebuild services following remediation.

Because Mold Removal Worx LLC is led by a Virginia Class A Contractor, the company can manage projects from the initial inspection through remediation and reconstruction when needed. This comprehensive approach helps homeowners work with a single experienced team throughout the restoration process.

Michael also emphasizes thorough documentation during remediation projects, including digital records and post-remediation verification through accredited laboratory testing. By focusing on identifying moisture sources, documenting the remediation process, and verifying successful results, he works to provide clients with confidence throughout every stage of the project.

Helping Shape the Future of Mold Remediation

Michael’s involvement extends beyond serving individual property owners. According to the information provided by Mold Removal Worx LLC, he has helped advocate for changes to the Virginia Consumer Protection Act that require mold remediators to be licensed contractors and certified in mold remediation.

His participation reflects an ongoing commitment to raising professional standards and promoting qualified mold remediation practices throughout Virginia.

By supporting stronger industry requirements, Michael aims to help protect consumers while encouraging higher levels of professionalism within the mold remediation field.
